Frequently Asked Questions

You Might Be Wondering…

If you are here, you are probably tired.

Maybe overwhelmed. Maybe unsure whether you should have this sorted by now.

Before you book, it is completely normal to have questions. Here are some of the ones I hear most often.

I have already tried everything. How will this be different?

Almost every parent I speak to says this.

You have read the blogs. Tried the routines. Adjusted naps. Changed bedtime. Googled at 2am.

What makes this different is that we slow everything down and look at your whole child and your whole family.

I am a qualified nurse and health visitor, now working in education, with many years of experience supporting families. Alongside that professional background, I am also a mum of five. I know first hand that what works beautifully for one child can completely fail with the next.

There is no one approach that fits every family. My role is to guide you, educate you about sleep, and coach you through building something realistic for your home, your child’s temperament, and your values.

Is this medical advice?

No.

LivWell Family offers education and sleep coaching. I do not provide medical diagnosis or treatment.

If there are signs that a medical issue may be affecting your child’s sleep, I will always advise you to speak to your GP or healthcare provider before making changes.

My role is to help you understand sleep development, routines, behaviour patterns and environmental factors, so you feel confident making informed decisions for your family.

Will I be expected to use controlled crying?

No.

You will never be asked to ignore your child or leave them distressed.

My approach is gentle, responsive and grounded in developmental understanding. We focus on building confidence, security and consistent rhythms in a way that feels manageable and respectful.

If something does not sit right with you, we adjust.

What actually happens in a consultation?

Before we speak, you complete a detailed information form so I can understand the bigger picture.

During our session, we explore:

Your child’s sleep patterns

Daily rhythms

Feeding and routines

Behaviour and emotional wellbeing

Family pressures

Your hopes and goals

From there, I guide you through practical strategies and help you build a clear and realistic plan forward.

Afterwards, you receive a written summary and guidance so you feel supported as you implement changes.

How quickly will we see change?

That depends on your child’s age, temperament and how consistent we can be.

Some families notice small shifts within days. Others take a few weeks to gently reshape long standing patterns.

The goal is not a quick fix. It is sustainable change that you understand and can maintain long term.

What if my child has additional needs?

Every child is different.

Throughout my professional career and personal life, I have supported families navigating a wide range of needs and circumstances.

Sleep can be influenced by anxiety, sensory differences, developmental stages, family stress and life changes.

We adapt. Always.

This is tailored guidance, not a rigid programme.

Why should I trust you?

Professionally, I am a qualified nurse and health visitor with years of experience working with families, now working in education and coaching.

Personally, I am a mum of five.

I understand sleep from both sides.

The theory.

The research.

The real life exhaustion.

You are not being judged. You are being supported.

What if I feel embarrassed about how things have got?

Please do not.

Parenting is complex. Sleep is complex. Life is complex.

Reaching out for support is not weakness. It is strength.

If you do not see your question here, please reach out. I am always happy to talk things through before you book.

You do not have to navigate this alone.
