Real People. Real Trauma.

Real Rebuilding.

Who we are

We’re Ian & Liz Wells — and we’re so glad you’re here.

We’re not here as distant experts with perfect lives.

We’re here as two people who have had the ground ripped from under us, who have sat in hospital corridors, stared down the possibility of goodbye, rebuilt from nothing, and fought for our family, our marriage, our health and our future.

We know what it is to survive.

We also know how brutally hard it is to live afterwards.

About Liz

I’m Liz – mum of five, former nurse and specialist family nurse, health visitor, and now a lecturer training the next generation of healthcare professionals.

In 2023, my life stopped.

Two words changed everything: liver failure.

The journey that followed was intense and traumatic – diagnosis, vomiting blood, jaundice, endless waits in ambulances and hospital corridors, fluid gain, ICU, dialysis, a life-saving transplant, and coming terrifyingly close to goodbye.

The doctors were happy. Medically, I was a “success case”.
But when I got home, nothing felt like success.

I was alive, but I was not ok.

I’d lost money, work, confidence, friendships, my sense of identity, my place in the world. My family had already been through so much, and I didn’t know how to make sense of any of it without breaking down.

I waited months for emotional support that never truly came. I felt deserted – stuck on that island, surviving but not living, putting all my emotions in a sealed mental box just to function.

The turning point wasn’t neat or pretty. It started with a notebook.

I began to journal – scribbled sentences, rants, questions, memories, pain, gratitude, confusion. I read everything I could about trauma and PTSD. I talked honestly with a few trusted friends. I slowly pulled apart the box I’d shoved everything into.

That process became my raft off the island.
It gave me language, tools, and – eventually – a new life: Life 2.0.

I used my experience, my 1st class honours degree, my nursing and family work to step into teaching and then to build LivWell Family: a space for others who are stuck between survival and rebuilding, waiting for help that never seems to come.

About Ian

I’m Ian – husband, dad, creator and relentless problem-solver.

While Liz was fighting for her life, I was fighting in a different way: holding the family together, pausing everything in our business, and quietly watching our finances and stability unravel.

When everything fell apart, we didn’t have a safety net. We had a kitchen table, a creative idea and a refusal to give up.

From that, I built Beautifully Handcrafted – a handmade home fragrance and gifting brand, designing and creating every product from scratch. Our candles and products have now travelled across the UK, into high-end retail spaces, busy markets – and even been smelt by King Charles himself.

I know what it is to build from nothing.
To start again when you’re exhausted.
To hold both fear and determination in the same breath.

My passion at LivWell Family is to help other families do the same – to create income, stability and confidence through ourBusiness-in-a-Boxmodel, without the shame, pressure or “sell your soul” mentality you see in so many schemes.

Together

Together, we’ve:

  • Raised five children through every possible stage of sleep deprivation, behaviour storms and family chaos

  • Built a business from our kitchen table during one of the darkest seasons of our lives

  • Rebuilt our marriage, our finances, our sense of purpose and our identity, piece by piece

  • Created LivWell Family as a space where no one has to walk through the “after” of trauma alone

We Believe

Compassion over judgement

Small, realistic steps over dramatic overnight change

Honest conversations over fake perfection
